My wife's father, Alois Mommers (1901 - 1990), was a successful insurance salesman but his first love was always music. In this short music video he plays and sings (in German) a song he composed about his adopted hometown of Ruedesheim am Rhein, Germany- a well known tourist destination on the Rhine River. As the song says, "If you haven't been in Ruedesheim then you haven't been on the Rhine." Audio recorded in 1977 when Alois visited us in Ventura, California, USA . Video made in 2007 from the 1977 audio and from still photos from our family and file photos from Ruedesheim Tourist AG.
